Wonderful Resident Appreciation Barbecue

There was a Huge turnout for the Woodland Park Resident Appreciation Barbecue today! Management, staff and volunteers were serving burgers, hot dogs drinks, chips and ice cream for dessert. There was a bounce house and lawn games for the kids.

Gift cards were randomly selected from among the "Blue Ribbon Award" winners from the four sided inspections. Music played and we all got a chance to meet and mingle with our neighbors and friends. Congratulations to Kelli and staff for a great party!

Great turnout for Ice Cream party

We had a wonderful turnout for the Ice Cream party on Friday July 18th. The committee was surprised by member Karen Kinney, who made a double, two-layer cake to go with our ice cream.

We were assisted in serving by member, Natalie Hileman, Manager Kellie Carlson and Betty Van Meter. Paul Malecki and Jon Van Meter set up the tables for toppings, nuts and sprinkles.

An estimated 60 to 80 residents and children lined up for treats and everyone enjoyed the WII games and demonstrated the kind of fun we can have in our clubhouse.

We look forward to seeing everyone again on August 9th at 12:00 for the Resident Appreciation barbecue and on August 23 at 10:00 for the Communication Committee Resident meeting.

Committee meeting June 2014

Thursday June 5th at 4:00 the WPCC met in the community clubhouse, in attendance were Jon Van Meter - Chairman, Paul Malecki, Vice-Chair and Karen Kinney incoming committee member.

Jon and Paul welcomed Karen and gave her a brief history of the committee and explained the purpose and scope of the committee efforts.

Jon presented a first draft of the committee handbook including the history of the committee.

Park manager Kelli Carlson was asked to join us to establish a basis of good communication between this committee and park management. The chair recognized Kelli's accomplishments as manager, clubhouse improvements, new flooring, new counter tops in the restrooms, resolution of water leaks, and other park wide improvements.

We discussed upcoming park events:

  • It was agreed that all committee chairs meet annually with management to clarify common goals.
  • July 18th at 7:00 p.m. was agreed on as the time and date for a WPCC sponsored Ice Cream Social.
  •  August 9th @ 12 is the resident barbecue with prizes for home improvement blue ribbon winners.
  • August 23rd will be a meeting with all residents and committees invited for a question and answer informational meeting.
  •  We agreed to support the Homework Assistance group in getting that program restarted in September.
Paul requested a copy of bylaws and committee position descriptions be provided to all members.

Kelli offered to include a flyer in the quarterly park newsletter to encourage participation and information.

Meeting was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
